New Book Release, Conference, Shirley Temple, and It Came From the Great Salt Lake

An exciting anthology, It Came From the Great Salt Lake, will be released at this year's Life, the Universe, and Everything (LTUE) Conference. It features a great bunch of authors, beginning to published, with selections of horror that extend from one end of the spectrum (YA, humor) to the other (dark, urban).

I played a small part in the selection of pieces, editing, and other assorted riffraff (in fact, the publisher was kind and generous enough to list me as the editor). If you have a chance, go get a copy and read it. Kindle and other versions are available now. The paperback version will be available next week, and you can also get a copy at the official release party at LTUE.

The festivities are being held in conjunction with LTUE and the brand new LTUE After Dark: Things That Go Bump in the Night, Thursday, February 11, 7 to 9 p.m., at the Provo Marriott Hotel & Conference Center, Cedar Room. For more information please visit the LTUE Conference page.

As part of the presentation, I will be providing a short summary of classic horror - Walpole, Radcliffe, Shelley, Stoker, Blackwood, Hawthorne, Irving, Stoker, Lovecraft, Poe, etc. - it should be entertaining and enlightening. It will also be a wonderful opportunity to meet and greet authors and others associated with LTUE, as well as the Utah Chapter of the Horror Writers Association. For more information on the Utah Chapter, see our Facebook presence: https://www.facebook.com/UtahHorrorWriters/.

Now, for the best part - the pseudo-lounge at the Marriott makes a great Shirley Temple - having been on
the Temperance Wagon for several years, this is probably the best drink you can find in Provo, although I've heard they have a few outlets that provide Mexican Coca Cola and Texas Dr. Pepper... hope to see you there!

Sounds like a great party. I'll be there! Thanks for all your "editor" efforts. You deserve titles. I think I'll don with with another. Let's see, you've already claimed Prince of Darkness. That's going to be hard to beat. Oh, I know. How about The Great I Am? Kind of play both sides, you know?
