Just finished reading this story, and had a slight remembrance of Lord of the Flies by William Golding, I believe. It was the first Ketchum novel I've read, but I remember him being discussed many years ago in the same conversation as Hunter Goatley and Robert R. McCammon... not a bad read, but probably wouldn't buy the book...
